Sit Down Sunbeams
About thirteen three year old's are moving into primary from nursery in January. Although we are excited to have that many new special spirits join our primary, we are a bit apprehensive about keeping the reverence during sharing and singing time. After voicing my concerns the other day, my sister shared an amazing idea with me. Let them 'HATCH EGGS'.
So each Sunbeam has an 'egg'...laminated with their name on it of course...and it is their job to sit on it and keep it warm throughout sharing time. If they take care of it and keep it warm by sitting on it, just before singing time a random chic...
can be chosen from a closed container. They can then hold and care for their chic during singing time. The chicks and eggs are collected before the children leave to attend their class and it can be repeated the next Sunday! It is a creative and fun idea that we are going to try with the new Sunbeams this year and hopefully it will help them to stay in their chairs!
